The charity that is important to me is WIN House. It is a place for women and children who are in need of a safe place to go when leaving abusive relationships. Throughout Edmonton and its surroundings, for almost 50 years, they’ve given women and children of all ages and cultures a safe place to flee. From passionate professionals and volunteers to dedicated donors, they’re committed to providing safety, support, relief and resources for abuse victims.

I think it’s a wonderful charity that gives women and children hope, and that they know they can escape to a safe environment.

You can help too!

She might be your sister, co-worker or friend. Your mother, or your daughter. Maybe, “she” was you. The fact is, when the emotional, mental and physical signs of domestic abuse are present, it affects us all.

This is not just a gender issue. It’s a human rights issue, and we can do something about it:

  • By volunteering: They always need help with their office administration, fundraising, special events and committees.
  • By hosting an event: WIN House can help you organize your own fundraising event or donation drive.
