Volunteering at the Food Bank

This year again, our entire crew volunteered at the Edmonton Food Bank. Giving back to the community is at the absolute core of our law firm, which is based on the slogan of "We Care”.

This year again, our entire crew volunteered at the Edmonton Food Bank.
It is our office tradition to have an annual Food Bank Day where we shut the office for an afternoon and donate our time filling up food hampers and volunteering. We are honoured to have been given the opportunity to help this very worthy cause.

Seeing people struggling with poverty around us was one of the main motivators behind our team’s choice to support the Edmonton Food Bank.

We want to make a difference in the community. This mantra is the absolute core of our law firm, which is based on the slogan of “We Care”.

I have a personal connection to the food bank and it is one of my favourite charities. It’s because you see people benefiting first hand— at the doors. I always do this drive on Ramadan as part of our Give 30 Campaign along with a donation.

I believe that it is always better to give charity quietly, but if you give openly as well, it is also good, especially if it encourages others to do so.  This is how I was brought up and I am thankful that our entire team has the same vision.

You can help too!

It is incredible how giving comes to you. The more you give, the more you receive. We encourage everyone to support this and other charitable organizations, many of which our clients have used.

Each month, over 22,000 people receive food hampers from Edmonton’s Food Bank. The Food Bank also distributes food for more than 500,000 meals and snacks each month through more than 250 affiliated agencies, churches or food depots. Approximately 40 per cent of clients served are children under 18.

The Food bank welcomes all help, be it in form of monetary donations, volunteering or food items.
